| Client | Status |

| Claude Code | ✓ Fully supported |
| Cline / Continue | ✓ Fully supported |
| Perplexity | △ Works with caveats — see below |
Perplexity enforces a hard 15-second timeout on MCP tool calls at its proxy layer. Vault's response-caching layer (shipped July 2026) now serves repeat lookups for search_institutions, get_bank_profile, get_asset_quality_detail, get_loan_mix, get_brokered_deposits, get_branch_data, get_recent_charters, get_ma_activity, and get_lender_rankings in under 200ms — well inside that limit. get_industry_metrics scans 5,000+ records per call and will still time out on Perplexity even when cached; we recommend Claude Desktop for industry-level queries. For get_lender_rankings on Perplexity, narrowing by state or city keeps first-time (uncached) calls comfortably under the limit.
Banking data is buried in regulatory filings, paywalled aggregators, and 90s-era websites. Vault MCP exposes the same FDIC public data that powers vaultbot.ai to any AI agent — for free, with no API key, and no rate limits beyond what the FDIC enforces upstream.
